Funny Girl

Here are a couple pictures from today. In one of them you'll see Ana in a pair of my shoes. We told her we were getting ready to go bye bye and asked her to go get her shoes on. She went to my closet and found one of the most dressy pair of shoes I own. In the other pictures she told us Elmo was gonig to the potty and after a few minutes of silence we found her in the bathroom with Elmo. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving 2008

Many people are thankful for many things. We have an exhaustive list which I'm sure most you are well aware of. One specific that I never thought would be something to share, is that Ana has decided it's fun to pee pee on the potty! Thanksgiving Day this year is the day she decided we would give it a go for it. She will even (occasionally) tell us when she has to go. Here is a picture of our Thanksgiving Day! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving . . .

4 months and 10 years

Today marks a couple anniversaries in the Coleman. 4 moths ago we were in Guatemala picking up Ana. My what has changed in our home in the last 4 months. We now have two significant times each day 1:30 pm and 9:30 pm . . . nap and bedtime! Before, if it was 9:30 and we wanted to go out for ice cream and coffee - we did, no more, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

10 years ago Keith and I were married. We've been together for almost 13 years and these last 3 years have been a true test. Our entire adoption journey has been a roller coaster, to say the least, but through each step, set back, heart break, joy and finally a daughter home with us we have grown closer at each point.

No photos for today, just some celebrating to do!

Grandparent's Day

Recently it was Grandparent's Day and my parents came to visit my niece's preschool. They had a special day for them. Since they were close by Ana and I decided to have lunch with everyone. While we were there we visits my sister and brother-in-law's new home they will be moving into in December. Anyway, while we were there the girls were outside playing and my Mom got a couple good shots of them.

New Dress

Saturday at church we had our annual Fall Craft Show. A lady at our church makes "pillow case" dresses and they are as cute as can be! Needless to say, we bought one and now I'm on the look out for cute (inexpensive) pillowcases. I wanted to put a cute photo so everyone could see, but after church yesterday Ana was in no mood for a photo shoot. You'll even see on the first picture as I was chasing her around the house trying to get a good picture she layed face down so I would stop taking her picutre. If you're interested in the pillow case dresses let me know. She charges $10-$12 and donated $5 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

First Snow!

Yesterday it snowed for the first time this season and this was the first time Ana has ever seen snow. She kept calling it rain. Here's a couple pics in her cute, pink winter coat from Lucy (my friend from graduate school). Thanks Lucy!

Happy Halloween ! ! !

OK, 10 days between posts is too long, I know!

Ana and I did take a trip to Chicago for 4 days. I had a conference to attend and we stayed with some friends of ours. We had a blast! Ana stayed with Kim during the day and they had fun at Target, Wal-Mart, the park and McDonald's. She also ended up with new mittens (3 pair) and a toboggan (winter hat for those of you who think I talking about a sled). Ana did wonderful on the "airpane" and thought it was a blast!

Here are some photos of one of Ana's Halloween outfits. She actually has blinking black sock with kitty-cats on them, of which she says, "Meoooooow" every time she sees them light up. Anyway, the blinking kitty sock are in the dirty clothes, so we went with yellow ones. Also, just so you know. The first photo she is saying "Cheese!" not growling like a monster!

Photos from Weekend in Scottsburg

First Post

Well, I'm going to give this a try again. I don't plan to be able to post daily, but hopefully at least weekly. I have found it difficutl to keep up with this, along with many other things now that I've started back to work. Right now I am able to work at night and Ana is able to stay with Papa (Keith). Then we have a friend from chuch "on call" for the following morning in case I get off late or get no sleep. We've not had to "call her in" in the past few weeks, but Ana did go over and play with her grand daughter today which was a nice little break.

Ana also received her flu shot today. She will need another one in 1 month since this is the first one she has ever received. She also received the first of 3 injections for Hepatitis B. Her Hep B titer was the only one which came back negative when we checked her blood levels. This is good news because it means she probably received the reported immunizations while in Guatemala.

We recently went to Grandma and Papaw's (my Mom and Dad) for the weekend so Ana could meet more family, most who had not met her since she got home from Guatemala. We had a wonderful weekend with Grandma and Papaw, cousins and other extended family. It was a busy weekend with a surprise birthday party for Uncle Steve, a wedding of my cousin Brooke and then an Open House for everyone to meet Ana. It was so nice to see so many people. Many people I hadn't seen in 10 years in some cases. Since this is the first time I've posted on this website I hope to be able to figure out how to post photos, but I won't make any promises.

I love to read comments so feel free to leave them. I'll try to respond to them too.

Have a great day!
Tana
